A combined sediment and activated carbon filtration system
This compact filter uses two combined sediment and activated carbon filter cartridges. The first cartridge is for use in the filter, whilst the second serves as a spare, making maintenance easier and allowing you to plan ahead for replacement.
The lifespan of a cartridge is generally 6 to 12 months, depending on the quality of the water being filtered, the level of impurities in the water supply and the household’s usage.
The sediment section helps to trap visible impurities that are naturally found in the distribution network: sludge, sand, rust, suspended particles, pieces of limescale, and deposits and residues from the pipes or maintenance work on the network.
The activated carbon component complements this process thanks to its adsorption properties. It is particularly effective at improving the taste and smell of water, whilst helping to remove many of the undesirable compounds that are sometimes found in tap water.
Activated carbon is often sought after for its ability to remove various compounds that may be present in water, such as certain pesticides, certain heavy metals, chemical residues and emerging substances such as PFAS.

Why combine it with a limescale inhibitor?
A limescale inhibitor treats limescale, but it does not remove sediment already present in the water, such as sand, silt, rust, limescale particles or other residues. This filter is therefore strongly recommended as a supplementary measure.
A water softener on its own is the cheapest solution, but not the most effective, as it does not remove solid impurities already present in the system. With a filter as a supplement, the water benefits from a more comprehensive treatment throughout the house.

Is this a duplex filter?
No. This model has only one tank. It is a compact filter that provides two-stage filtration in a simpler and more space-saving design than a two-tank system.
What do combination cartridges filter out?
The sediment filter helps to trap sludge, sand, rust, particles, limescale and deposits from the mains water supply. The activated carbon filter helps to improve the taste and smell of the water and to remove many of the undesirable compounds sometimes found in tap water.
Does it replace a water purifier or a reverse osmosis system?
No. This filter is designed to improve water quality throughout the entire property and at all taps. Water purifiers and reverse osmosis systems are more effective but restrict the flow rate and are limited to use at a single tap.
Why are there two cartridges in the pack?
The pack includes one cartridge for use with the filter and a second spare cartridge, to make replacement easy when needed.
