The choice of water filter cartridges directly determines how your filtration system performs. Depending on water quality and the result you want to achieve, different cartridge technologies can be used individually or combined in a single, duplex or triple filter system.
Cartridges can be used to retain sediment, particles, sand or rust, while other filtration media, such as activated carbon, can complement the treatment of certain substances present in the water.
These are generally used as the first stage of filtration and help retain suspended matter such as sand, rust and other particles that may be present in the pipework.
Activated carbon is used to complement water filtration and act on different substances depending on the composition and characteristics of the cartridge selected.
Some installations require filtration tailored to a specific issue or to the quality of the water. In these cases, the cartridge should be selected according to the intended use, the water to be treated and, where necessary, the results of a water analysis.
In a duplex or triple filter, several cartridges can be installed in sequence to combine different filtration functions. A sediment filtration stage placed first can help protect and improve the performance of cartridges installed further downstream.
A greater number of filtration stages does not automatically mean better filtration: the choice and order of the cartridges should match the water quality and the treatment objective.
Service life depends on the type of cartridge, water quality, water consumption and the amount of impurities retained. Regular replacement helps maintain effective filtration and prevents a saturated cartridge from unnecessarily restricting water flow.
