UV Water Sterilizers

UV-C water disinfection
Protect your water with a UV sterilizer suited to your flow rate

Discover our UV water sterilizers, designed to complement filtration systems for rainwater, spring water, borehole water or well water. UV-C technology acts on micro-organisms present in the water without adding chemicals.

Key points

A UV sterilizer does not replace filtration. For effective operation, the water must be sufficiently clear and free from particles that could interfere with UV transmission. Filtration is therefore generally installed before the UV treatment.

What is a UV water sterilizer used for?

Acting on micro-organisms present in the water

UV-C radiation helps inactivate micro-organisms that are sensitive to ultraviolet light as the water passes through the treatment chamber. This treatment is particularly useful for water from private sources when microbiological quality needs to be controlled.

Treatment without adding chemicals

UV disinfection acts as the water passes through the unit and does not require chlorine or another disinfectant to be added to the water. It does not alter the taste of the water and does not replace treatments required for particles or dissolved substances.

Which UV sterilizer should you choose?

The choice of UV sterilizer mainly depends on the maximum flow rate of the installation, the intended use and the quality of the water to be treated. The power of the unit must be matched to the flow rate so that the water receives sufficient exposure to UV radiation.

25 W or 55 W: choose the power to suit your installation

We offer different power ratings to meet the requirements of homes and installations requiring a higher flow rate. The choice between a 25 W UV sterilizer and a 55 W UV sterilizer should take the actual flow rate of the installation into account.

Filtration and UV: two complementary treatments

Filter the water before UV disinfection

For rainwater, spring water, borehole water or well water, treatment generally begins with particle prefiltration, followed by finer filtration adapted to the characteristics of the water. The UV sterilizer is then installed downstream to provide microbiological treatment.

Important

The quality of water from a borehole, well or spring can vary considerably. A water analysis helps identify the parameters that need to be treated and determine whether additional filtration is required before the UV sterilizer.
