This version consists of the filter unit only. It is designed for those who already have the necessary equipment or who wish to build their own bespoke system. The product is supplied with its pre-installed cartridge and mounting bracket, but without a tap, fittings or tubing.

This product description does not cover a complete kit, but the purifier unit alone. It is particularly suitable for those who wish to replace only the filter in an existing system, or for those who wish to build their own custom setup.

If you’re looking for a ready-to-install solution, this version isn’t the best choice. You’re better off opting for the version with a single-way tap or the version with a three-way tap.

A 4-in-1 filter system

The SYR POU max combines four filters in a single unit: two mesh filters to remove impurities, an activated carbon filter and an antibacterial filter. This compact design combines particle filtration, taste and odour improvement, and additional point-of-use protection in a single unit.

In practical terms, this filter helps to trap impurities such as sand, rust and fibres, improves the taste and smell of the water, and reduces various unwanted residues. Activated carbon is particularly effective against chlorine, certain odours, pesticides, organic residues, as well as certain heavy metals and certain PFAS, depending on water quality and actual conditions of use.

The filtration rating is specified here as 0.15 microns, which allows for very fine filtration whilst remaining a compact and practical solution for everyday use.

Long-life cartridge with backflushing

The current specifications state a capacity of up to 7,500 litres, with a service life of 2 to 3 years. Even if this capacity is not reached, it is recommended that you replace the cartridge after 3 years at the latest to maintain good filtration performance. The inclusion of manual backwashing also helps to extend the filter’s service life. 

Why does this water filter need a suitable tap?

This type of purifier uses very fine filtration. The finer the filtration, the lower the flow rate compared to a standard water supply. For this reason, it must be used with a dedicated tap or a three-way tap, and not with standard taps not designed for this purpose.

Another important point: it is not advisable for purified water to flow through the same outlet pipe as unpurified water, especially if that pipe or tap fittings may contain deposits, traces of limescale or residues that have built up over time. A dedicated outlet for purified water is therefore the most sensible solution.

Put together your own custom pack

This version without accessories can also be a real advantage: it allows you to put together your own pack. This is particularly useful if you already have a three-way tap, if you already have certain fittings, or if you wish to choose taps and fittings different from those included in the complete kits.

In other words, this version isn’t just for replacing an existing filter. It can also serve as a basis for a custom build, provided you know exactly which accessories to add.

The filter unit can serve as the basis for a bespoke installation if you choose the appropriate accessories yourself.

Before making a purchase, we recommend checking the space available under the sink, especially if you still need to fit the connections, tap and pipe. The current product description also includes a dimensioned diagram of the unit, which is useful for planning the installation.
