How does a magnetic limescale inhibitor work? Does it actually work? Do the magnets wear out? Does it remove limescale?
Assembly instructions
- The water softener must be installed on the main water supply pipe, either before or after the meter.
- There is no specific order in which to assemble it.
- One of the system’s brackets is already fitted with nuts; it must be positioned against the wall.
- The additional nuts supplied are to be used on the side of the screw heads.
- They allow the two shells to be clamped together when there isn't much space, so that the screws don't protrude from the shells.
- The larger the pipe diameter, the greater the gap between the shells will be.
- This does not affect performance; the system is designed so that the magnets are always as close as possible to the pipe.
- The magnets must attract each other to form a magnetic barrier perpendicular to the flow of water.
Specific operating conditions
This system can be fitted to all types of non-magnetic pipes. It can therefore be used on plastic, copper, aluminium pipes, etc.
You can check whether your hose is compatible using a small magnet or a fridge magnet:
- If the magnet is not attracted to the pipe, it is compatible.
If the pipe isn’t compatible, the solution is to make a sleeve about ten centimetres long using a compatible pipe. This could also be a good opportunity to fit a filter if you don’t already have one.
The magnetic field does not cause any problems with other common electrical appliances. You simply need to be careful with small devices such as watches, calculators or magnetic bank cards if they are placed nearby.
It is advisable to install the system as close as possible to the equipment requiring protection against limescale. Beyond 40 metres, performance will be significantly reduced.
Fitting the limescale filter after the filter
Magnetic limescale inhibitors only prevent limescale from forming; they do not instantly remove limescale deposits from the water supply system.
Nor do they remove sludge, sand and other impurities that also come from the mains supply.
Over time, iron filings or particles may also accumulate on the magnet, reducing its effectiveness. This is why we recommend using a filter to trap these particles and improve the overall quality of your water.

The main water supply pipe is often oversized. This is why the system can be installed on pipes up to 32 mm in diameter, but the maximum water flow rate it can handle should not exceed 28 l/min, which corresponds to a pipe with an internal diameter of 25 mm.
If the water flow is higher or the water is harder, installing multiple units may improve efficiency.
For pipes with a diameter of 16 mm or less, you will need to wrap a few turns of electrical tape or similar around the pipe to compensate for any play.

Installation tips
- The anti-limescale device must be placed in the main water supply line either before or after the meter.
- There is no direction of installation.
One of the shells of the system is already equipped with nuts, it must be placed on the wall side.
- The extra nuts supplied are to be used on the screw head side.
They allow the 2 shells to be tightened together when there is not much space for the screws to protrude from the shells. - The larger the diameter of the pipe, the larger the space between the shells.
This does not affect the efficiency, the design of the system allows the magnets to be as close to the pipe as possible. - The magnets should attract each other to form a magnetic barrier perpendicular to the water flow.

Well, I am satisfied! The rough limescale has disappeared to be replaced by a very light white dust that can be removed with the tip of a finger. After multiple researches on anti-limescale systems, softeners and others, I made a simple test by intercalating a small system with magnets between the mixer of the shower and the flexible. I immediately noticed a noticeable difference. This was confirmed the following showers, even me who does not necessarily have skin problems, it is softer, and the skin of the face does not pull me any more. I decided to go further and install a big magnet on my water inlet, and frankly, I am delighted. The dishes, the laundry, the taps, in short, it changes everything. But let's agree, the limestone is transformed, but not eliminated, simply it does not cling any more, it makes like a white trace which is wiped very easily. The bottom of the kettle can be cleaned with a sponge or a dish brush. My wife who had irritated skin after showering was pleasantly surprised.I ended up eliminating the polyphosphate cartridge(much less effective for limescale), which I replaced with an activated carbon cartridge(also from Biopur), now I can even tap water, which used to make me sick.To think that I almost spent 2000 euros on a softener, it cost me a little over 200 with the carbon cartridges, no maintenance, no salts to buy, no extra water consumption... Thanks to Biopur for their products, the seriousness and speed of delivery.

After almost 8 months of use, the results of this ultra simple to install device are rather good. The water is a little less aggressive after the shower. The limescale deposits are more diffuse and can be erased with a simple wipe. The limescale is still present, but less constraining.I had some doubts before I bought it-even though this technique has been around for a long time-now I'm glad I did. "Biopurhabitat" will therefore remain in place, for an economical solution to transform nasty limescale into more liveable limescale.

I studied everything, including research in English in the text, everything I could find on the web and this for hours and hours (really a considerable time I spent). At first I had dismissed magnetism, it seemed absurd. But there was no question of using a softener that was too complicated, expensive and polluting. No question of polyphosphates either. In the end, only the magnet remained, apart from the electromagnetism or the zinc anode, which both posed a problem in my installation. The magnet is much easier to install (a few minutes).

Simple and effective alternative to water softeners
In Béziers, the water is hard, chalky. As the supplier warns users that the use of a softener "may present a risk of bacterial contamination", I looked for soft solutions and came across anti-limescale magnets. I installed the Powermag 12800, the best adapted to the diameter of my water inlet. The experiment was conclusive: the limescale is not removed at all, but instead of sticking to the taps, shower walls and all the appliances, it is gently deposited in powder form and can be removed with a cloth or sponge. No more white vinegar or cleaning your coffee maker with unnatural products, a vigorous rinsing is enough. To go even further, I added a Brita filter on the kitchen faucet that retains this "powder" and removes treatment odors and pesticides, for optimal quality tea and coffee. I am delighted!

Doubts about effectiveness
Our kettle was carefully descaled and cleaned beforehand. However, within a week of installing the anti-limescale device, we already noticed a noticeable limescale deposit in the kettle (which therefore serves as an indicator).

Vous êtes un grand amateur de thé et chercher une eau adaptée à votre passion.
Pour avoir une eau de meilleure qualité gustative ainsi que 0% de dépôts calcaire en la faisant bouillir, un osmoseur ou un filtre en ultrafiltration serait bien plus adapté. Vous pouvez aussi utiliser de l'eau déminéralisée.
Il est bon de rappeler que les adoucisseurs d'eau ou les anti calcaires :
- ne doivent pas légalement baisser le Th au dessous d'un certain seuil
- servent a rendre l'entretien plus facile des sanitaires
- limiter la dégradation des appareils ménager
- éviter la formation de calcaire en plaques et ainsi la prolifération de bactéries éventuelles
Un adoucisseur à sel aura même tendance à modifier le goût de l'eau !

Bluffing efficiency!
I have had this system installed on my main pipe for 2 years. No limescale deposits on the tiles, taps, sinks or shower walls. The very slight white marks that appear are very easy to remove with a sponge or microfiber cloth. This system requires no maintenance and is very effective. The cloth remains soft and the new glasses that I have used since the installation have kept their transparency and show no trace of limescale. A real pleasure to put them on a table! (without having to specify that they are clean in spite of the traces of limestone impossible to remove as on my old glasses)

Each of them is indeed smaller than a lighter. The container is somewhat designer. That said, I installed it on the PVC water inlet (external diameter around 4cm) in an underground trap. So if the container was more rustic and therefore cheaper, it would also fit.

Bonjour, les aimants néodyme sont côtés en bourse et coûtent très cher, surtout en 12800 gauss c'est très rare. (aimants néodyme, dits en terre rare...)
Si nous pouvions utiliser des aimants en ferrite qui sont beaucoup moins cher nous le ferions mais ça ne fonctionne pas.
De même qu'on ne peut pas avoir de l'or au prix du plomb... sauf si on est magicien !
