4-in-1 under-sink water purifier – without tap

This version is the under-sink water filter unit only. It is intended for those who already have the necessary equipment or who wish to customise their own system. The product is supplied with its cartridge already fitted and its bracket, but without a tap, fittings or tubing.

This version includes only the water filter unit, complete with its cartridge and holder.

This product description does not cover a complete kit, but rather the under-sink water purifier unit on its own. It is particularly suitable for those who simply wish to replace the filter in an existing system, or for those who wish to build their own bespoke setup.

If you’re looking for a ready-to-install solution, this version isn’t the most suitable. You’d be better off choosing the version with a single-lever mixer, the version with a three-way mixer or the version with a hand shower mixer.

An under-sink water purifier with a 4-in-1 filter system

The SYR POU max combines four filters in a single unit: two mesh filters to remove impurities, an activated carbon filter and an antibacterial filter. This compact design combines particle filtration, taste and odour improvement, and additional protection at the point of use in a single unit.

In practical terms, this purifier helps to trap impurities such as sand, rust and fibres, improve the taste and smell of the water, and reduce various unwanted residues. Activated carbon is particularly effective against chlorine, certain odours, pesticides, organic residues, as well as certain heavy metals and certain PFAS, depending on water quality and actual conditions of use.

The 0.01-micron ultrafiltration membrane enables very fine filtration whilst remaining a compact and practical solution for everyday use.

Long-life cartridge with backflushing

The current product specifications state a capacity of up to 7,500 litres, with a service life of 2 to 3 years. Even if this capacity is not reached, it is advisable to replace the cartridge after 3 years at the latest to maintain good filtration performance. The manual backwash also helps to extend the filter’s service life.

Why does this under-sink water filter need a suitable tap?

This type of purifier uses very fine filtration. The more advanced the filtration, the lower the effective flow rate compared with a standard water supply. For this reason, it must be used with a dedicated tap or a three-way tap, and not with standard taps not designed for this purpose.

Another important point: it is not advisable for purified water to flow back through the same end pipe as unpurified water, particularly if that pipe or the fittings may contain deposits, traces of limescale or residues that have built up over time. A dedicated outlet for purified water therefore remains the most sensible solution.

Put together your own bespoke pack

This version without a tap can also be a real advantage: it allows you to put together your own pack. This is particularly useful if you already own a three-way tap, if you already have certain fittings, or if you wish to choose different taps and fittings from those included in the complete kits.

In other words, this version is not intended solely for replacing an existing filter. It can also serve as the basis for a custom build, provided you know exactly which accessories to add.

The filter unit can serve as the basis for a bespoke installation if you choose the appropriate accessories yourself.

Before making any purchase, it is advisable to check the space available under the sink, particularly if you still need to fit the connections, the tap and the pipe. This product information sheet also includes a dimensioned diagram of the unit, which is useful for planning the installation.
